Has anyone of you been experiencing symptoms of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS)?

If yes, it is important to discuss them with your doctor. POTS is a type of dysautonomia that affects the autonomic nervous system, which controls functions such as heart rate, blood pressure, and digestion. In POTS, an abnormal increase in heart rate upon standing up triggers symptoms like lightheadedness, dizziness, and fainting. POTS can be triggered by various factors, including standing up too quickly and exercising; being in a warm environment; certain medications (such as decongestants); and certain medical conditions (such as pregnancy or anemia).

POTS can be triggered by certain vaccines, such as the COVID vaccine, but can also be triggered by COVID itself. POTS is associated with MCAS and Ehlers-Danlos. It can also be associated with other autoimmune diseases as well. Certain viruses, like EBV, can also be a trigger for POTS.

POTS can be treated using medications and supplements, making lifestyle changes such as changing your diet, and performing physical therapy exercises.

Listen, I get it. You are scared of lectins. The idea that lectins are bad for you is all over the internet. But did you know that beans are full of fiber and protein? Most lectins get killed off if you cook them at high heat, and soaking them helps as well. Beans—soybeans, black beans, kidney beans, and red beans—are a highly versatile food that contributes a significant amount of protein to your diet. Beans are great for people with meat allergies as well because they contain both protein and fiber.

I eat beans, and it doesn't make me flare. I have patients who also eat beans with chronic illnesses and don't flare. You may possibly do worse on legumes; it's possible, but I wouldn't give them up automatically without trying them yourself.

Beans are a nutritious and low-fat source of protein, fiber, and a variety of vitamins and minerals.

The question is... Do you eat and enjoy beans?

Some people have a few small patches of psoriasis, while others have large, widespread patches that cover a large portion of their body. Psoriasis symptoms can also come and go, with periods of remission interspersed with flare-ups.
