Integrative Medicine Guideline Treatments to Rheumatoid Arthritis

by | Mar 5, 2024

An integrative medicine approach to rheumatoid arthritis (RA) involves combining conventional treatments with complementary therapies to address the multifaceted nature of the condition.

In this video, I analyze the American College of Rheumatology guidelines on the Integrative approach to rheumatoid arthritis. Integrative medicine recognizes the importance of treating the whole person, including their physical, emotional, and environmental factors, in managing RA symptoms and improving overall well-being.

This approach may include conventional medications such as disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and biologics, along with complementary therapies like acupuncture, massage therapy, dietary changes, stress management techniques, and exercise programs.

By integrating various modalities tailored to individual needs, integrative medicine aims to optimize RA management, reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, improve joint function, and enhance the quality of life for individuals living with this chronic autoimmune condition.
